A Little History
We arrived at this property over 20 years ago, and it’s been a labour of love ever since. What started as a simple vision has gradually evolved into the home you see today—a space that balances comfort with character. While we feel we've come close to achieving our dream, there's always something new to add each year, as the journey of creating a home is never truly finished.
A big part of our story is our connection with The Pump House in Christchurch—a demolition yard that has become a treasure trove of salvaged materials, especially in the wake of the Canterbury earthquakes. Many of our windows, doors, and architectural features have been rescued from buildings that were no longer structurally safe but still held incredible craftsmanship and historical value.
Through reusing these elements, we're not only reducing waste but also honouring the architectural heritage of Christchurch. Each piece has its own story, and together they help us preserve a glimpse of the beautiful streetscapes that once defined the city.
